Upshaw averaged 24 points and 10 rebounds per game last season for U-High, and was named most valuable player in the Independent School League. Upshaw picked ISU over another Missouri Valley Conference, Drake. Two other Valley schools – Evansville and Northern Iowa – also offered him along with Wagner, Albany, Ball State and Kent State.
