Tony announced that he will attend ISU and play for the Redbirds. The Chicago native spent the last two seasons at Ellsworth Community College in Iowa Falls, Iowa, averaging 22 points and 12 rebounds this past season while earning Division II All-America honors. Lewis, who has been promised a scholarship as a senior in the 2010-11 season, passed up a scholarship offer at Southern Illinois to walk on this season. Lewis was a third-team JUCO Division II All-American as a freshman. He was also a member of the 2008-2009 NJCAA Division II Men's Basketball Pre Season All American Team. Tony was named the DII Men’s Basketball Athlete of the Week November 13-November 19, 2008. In Ellsworth’s overtime 95-92 victory over North Central Tony put up 25 points, went 11-26 in field goals, was 3-5 at the line and had 18 rebounds. In the Panther’s 104-62 win against Black Hawk East Tony had 26 points, 9-14 in field goals, 1-2 in three pointers, and 7-9 at the line. He also had two assists and 13 rebounds. In the 107-105 overtime win against Parkland Lewis scored 41 points, was 16-22 for field goals, and 9-12 at the line. He also tallied four assists, two steals and 10 rebounds. Tony is now averaging 26 points per game and 12.8 rebounds per game for the year. He was also named the Division II Player of the Week after posting back-to-back 30 point performances for Ellsworth. Lewis scored 38 points with 10 rebounds in an 87-84 win over Kirkwood (Iowa) on Feb. 16. Two days later he scored 33 points in an 85-71 loss at Marshalltown (Iowa). He concluded the week with 13 points and 10 rebounds in an 88-56 blowout over Southeastern (Iowa) on Feb. 21. He finished the week with 84 points while shooting 52 percent from the field (28-54).
