Dana Ford a 6-foot-4, 185-pound guard from Egyptian High School in Tamms, Ill. has verbally committed to playing basketball at ISU.. He has been a starter since the first game of his freshman season and is the school's all-time leading scorer with 1,620 points through 3 seasons.

He has averaged 22.5 points per game the last two seasons after scoring 14.5 points an game as a freshman.  As a junior he averaged 8 rebounds a game.  He shot 50 percent from the field and 65 percent from the free throw line last year.

Ford was selected to the Chicago Sun Times Class A all-state first team last season. He is a three-time South Egyptian All-Conference team member and was the league's Player of the Year last season. He also has been a member of the All-South team, which is selected by the Southern Illinois Coaches Association, the last two years.

Pharaohs coach Chuck Doty says "We've never had a first team all-stater,. He's the catalyst of our team. The more I watch him the more I think he'll be a point guard in the future. He's a great passer and a great penetrator. He's just an awful fine player."
