15 years ago, my buddy Axe talked me into starting up a website. In trying to come up with a theme, ISU basketball was the natural choice for me. At the time, ISU’s official athletic site was minimal, with only 1 static page for the entire athletic department. I was proud to offer actual up to date information on the program to the non-townie fans. I did it for love of the program, and because I thought it would be fun. Even though my intentions were good, the reception from the athletic department was always cloudy at best due to my choice to add a forum and allow others to voice their opinion. My years of devotion to ISU Basketball were overshadowed in their minds by this site.

The fun of maintaining a website left me several years ago, and the fun I had being involved on the board has waned through the years as well. I have grown tired of HAVING to read every post made on the board and dealing with issues. It’s time for birdfan to walk off into the sunset. I’ve been planning this move for some time, and have worked out a graceful transition with ISUquinndog. I know that the next generation ISU fan site will be in good hands with him. He’s a web guru, and has the drive to continue the tradition. My only requirement was that the domain redbirdfan.com die with me. As long as the url existed and a poster named birdfan posted on it, there would be the grumblers (what?!!? Grumblers on the internet?!? ) who would say it was still my site. I wanted a clean break. I wont be an admin or moderator on Quinn’s site, just an average Joe.I donated all of my content to Quinn and for some time the site may look pretty much the same till he has time to revamp the look and feel to make it his own. But it's his ship now, his command. He's in charge, the boss, the head man, top dog, big cheese, head honcho, numero uno… I wish him well, and wouldn’t wish it on him in some respects. Please consider helping him out if he asks for donations to cover the costs of the site moving forward.

I will leave my site active for the foreseeable future with a link to his site so that as people straggle back in after a hiatus (God it will be nice to be able to take one of those) they will be able to find the new site and carry on.

I’ve had a Great time through the years. I’ve made some GREAT friends, and I appreciate the friendships I have developed over the years here. Both with those I have come to hang around with at ISU events and elsewhere, and those whom I’ve never met face to face with, but have interacted with through the years and feel like I know you as friends. And, I’m proud to know that this site has created circles of friendships among ISU fans who have participated here. I wont totally drift off into obscurity on the new board, and I still hope to hang with the gang at ISU events and elsewhere. But as far as running the board, in the words of the immortal Sgt. Hulka “I’m getting to old for this SHIIIIIIIIIIIIT!!!”

:regsign:

Oh and...
