The game started out with ISU forcing Wisconsin into a 35 second shot clock violation and the crowd of 9,533 cheering loudly. Unfortunately, 8 ISU turnovers and 6 1/2 minutes later the Badgers were up 15-4 and never looked back. Sloppy play by ISU and terrible officiating, which led to a Kevin Stallings technical and near ejection, dominated the first 10 minutes of the game. The Badgers stretched the lead to 23 at 32-9 before Tarise Bryson attempted to single handedly pull the Birds back into the game. He scored 18 points in the final 6 1/2 minutes of the half, 15 straight at one point to pull ISU back to within 13 but a deep three by Tarise rattled in and out ending his barage and once again Wisconsin pulled away and took a 45-26 lead into the locker room.
ISU could never dent the lead in the second half as Wisconsin coasted on to a 71-54 victory to move to 7-1. ISU slipped to 6-2. Bryson led all scorers with 28 points and was the only Redbird who looked to be up to the task for the game. Sean Riley played decently with team highs of 6 rebound, 3 assists and 2 blocked shots. However he never attempted a shot from the field and was 0-1 from the line.
