ISU
vs
Indiana State
January 27th

The first half was pretty competitive. Indiana St. jumped on top early, but the Birds regained the lead just as quickly. They stayed on top for a while but a run by the Sycamores put them back on top and they held on for a 2 point half time lead, 28-26.

The Birds jumped on the Sycamores to start the second half and took a 10 point lead 51-41 with about 11 1/2 minutes to go. Seven minutes later ISU found themselves down 10, 56-66 with 4 1/2 minutes to go. Indiana State hit 4 three pointers in a row, one of which was a 30 foot bank shot, during their 25-5 run. The Birds were able to scrape back to within 1 with 1:53 to go but hit a wall and Indiana State finished strong winning, 77-67. Late in the game Tarise Bryson went down hard and had to be helped off the court. He was taken to the hospital for x-rays after the game.

Tarise Bryson paced the Birds with 16 points, 3 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 steals and 2 blocked shots. L Dee Murdock added 14 points, but only scored 4 in the second half. Ryan Crowley added 10 points, 2 rebounds, 2 assists and 3 steals.Tyrone Brown, who has played little since serving a 1 game suspension, played 11 minutes and grabbed 4 rebounds. He didn't score, but was hammered hard on a nice driving layup attempt by 3 Indiana State players and left sprawling on the floor. This drew no reaction from the officials but sent coach Stallings into a frenzy on the sideline. ISU was out rebounded for the third straight game and also blew a double digit lead for the third straight game.
