 ISU lost to UIC 75-67 before a crowd of 5,640 at the UIC Pavillion.The teams played evenly for the first 10 minutes before UIC crept out to a 13 point half time lead.Foul trouble bothered ISU from the onset and caused the Birds to get away from their inside game which was working very well at the beginning of the game.The first nine minutes of the game ISU owned a 10-7 rebounding advantage,but UIC out rebounded them 17-6 over the next 8 minutes.ISU scored the first 5 points of the second half and looked as if they would jump right back in and make it a game.However that was almost as good as it would get as UIC ran their lead up to 21 with 8 minutes to go in the game.Poor free throw shooting and slightly more inspired play on the Birds part allowed the Birds to get as close as 6 on 2 occasions in the last minute but 21 was just too much to recover from in 8 minutes.

UIC finished with a 50-39 rebound advantage for the game.However they shot only 50% (19-38) from the charity stripe.ISU only shot 39% from the floor.Rico Hill led ISU with 24 points,9 rebounds and 4 steals.LeRoy Watkins scored 10 points and 7 rebounds.He also tossed down a couple of massive dunks.It appeared his shoulder is much better.Dan Muller scored 9 to go along with 7 boards.Jamar Smiley handed out 5 assists.
