 ISU easily defeated Wichita State 75-54 in the most lopsided victory in MVC tournament history since the move to St. Louis.ISU moved to 23-5 on the season and into Monday night's championship game against Southwest Missouri St.The Redbirds never trailed and shot 55% from the field for the game.

ISU's bench did an excellent job of covering for the injured Skipp Schaefbauer who remained in a St. Louis hospital recovering from surgery to place a pin in his broken femur.Steve Hansell replaced Skipp in the starting line up and scored 4 points,grabbed 4 rebounds and handed out 2 assists.Kyle Cartmill scored 13 points,handled 4 boards and had 2 assists.Rob Gibbons scored 10 points, handled 5 rebounds and blocked 1 shot.Kenneth Pierson scored 5 points,grabbed 2 boards and blocked 1 shot.

Rico Hill once again led ISU with 19 points and 7 rebounds(both team highs).Dan Muller scored 9 points and handled 3 rebounds.LeRoy Watkins scored 5 points,grabbed 3 boards and had 2 assists.Jamar Smiley had a team high 6 assists.
