The game stayed close in the first half with the Golden Flashes taking a 36-35 lead into the locker room in the first half.

Boo Bojang made a lay-up with 11:31 left to play in the second half to put the Birds up 53-52. Kent St regained the lead until Gregg Alexander sank 2 free throws with 10:47 left in the game to tie the score at 55. The Golden Flashes went on an 11-0 run after that and went on to win 76-61.

Trey Guidry, who started at point guard led the team with a double double with 15 points and a career high 11 assists. Bojang added 14 points and a team high 6 rebounds.
