After ties of 41-41, 43-43 and 47-47 EA once again gained a small lead at 52-47. The Birds battled back to tie the game once again at 56 with a 3 pointer from Greene. A baseline jumper by Bojang but the Birds up 2, but EA hit a 3 pointer to go up 1. A Gregg Alexander 3 pointer tied the game at 61 with 3:06 remaining. EA scored with 2:42 left to give them a 3 point lead. Trey Guidry nailed a 3 with 1:31 left to once again tie the game. Sergio McClain gave EA the lead 66-64, and a Free throw by Greene with 53.7 seconds left got ISU back within 1. ISU got the ball back with 18 seconds left and a 3 from the corner by Guidry rattled around the rim but popped out and ISU was force to foul Lucas Johnson with 3.7 remaining. Johnson missed the front end of a 1 and 1 and Bojang grabbed the ball, but nobody moved as confusion set it. He looked at the ref and then took off, but was called for traveling. Nobody but the refs seemed to realize that it was a 1 and 1 situation. ISU fouled Johnson on the inbound play, and he missed another free throw an a 3/4 court shot by Guidry fell short at the buzzer.

Greene once again led the Birds in scoring with 16. Bojang notched another double double with 15 points and 10 rebounds. Strandmark, Alexander, and Guidry all added 7 points.
