Chattanooga jumped out to an early 11-6 lead, but ISU came back to tie the
game at 11 on back to back baskets by Chris
Burras and Boo Bojang,
followed by a Bojang free throw. Baskets by Gregg
Alexander and Dana Ford gave
ISU a 15-11 lead. Chattanooga outscored the Birds 21-8 to take a 32-23
lead with 2:53 remaining, and coasted to a 36-28 half time lead.
Chattanooga stretched the lead to 11 in the second half before ISU once
again fought their way back into the game to force a 52-52 tie with 9:27
left in the game. After a Chattanooga free throw, Bojang scored to put ISU
on top 53-52. 3 lead changes followed with Chattanooga taking a 56-55 lead
they would not relinquish. They held the Birds off from the line down the
stretch to win 75-68.
Trey Guidry paced the Birds
with 26 points, while Bojang added 15 points and 10 rebounds. Vince
Greene was 0-8 from the filed but notched a game high 8 assists. Andy
Strandmark scored double digits for the 3rd straight game chipping in
11, with 5 rebounds.
