The Birds were held without a field goal until the 11:42 mark of the
first half, when Trey Guidry
nailed a three-point basket. Amazingly SMS led only 9-5 at that point. SMS
was up by 11 with 4:39 to play before halftime, and coasted to a 13-point
halftime lead, 28-15.
The closest the Redbirds got in the second half was within 12 with 3:52
to play after a made free throw by Gregg
Alexander. SMS didn’t make a field goal in the 7:36, but was
10-of-14 at the free throw line and won easily 60-46.
