It took until the 17:27 mark of the first half for either team to get on the
score board before the Redbirds broke out of the gates for a 98-64 victory in
their final exhibition tune-up before starting the regular season. Tarise
Bryson led 6 Redbirds in double figures with 23 points. Shedrick
Ford had a double double with 10 points and 10 rebounds. Shawn
Jeppson added 13 points, while freshman Gregg
Alexander added 10 points, 5 rebounds and 3 steals. Forwards Baboucarr
Bojang and Dirk Williams scored 11
points and 10 respectively. Williams also grabbed 7 rebounds. Vince
Greene added 8 points and 5 assists, and Randy
Rice chipped in 7 points. ISU out rebounded their opponents 39-34, and held
a slim 22-21 advantage in turnovers after committing only 8 turnovers in the
first half. The Birds made 52% of their shots from the field, and 53% from
behind the arc. They also connected on 25 of 32 free throws for the game (78%).
