Evansville scored first, but the Redbirds scored the next 12, 8 by Gregg
Alexander, to take a 10 point lead in the first 4 minutes of the game.
Evansville closed to within 6 points with 4:30 to go, but ISU scored the next 4
points to boost the margin back to 10. They entered the half up 14, 41-27. The
Birds closed the half outscoring the Purple Aces 12-4. Shawn
Jeppson and Boo Bojang added 9 points,
and Shedrick Ford scored 6 in the half.
Alexander led the Birds with 10 points in the half.
The Aces only got as close as11 in the second half. The Birds sealed the
victory down the stretch making 7 of 8 free throws to win 73-55.
Bojang led the way with team highs of 14 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists.
Alexander tied Bojang for team high honors with 14 points. Ford finished with 13
points, while Jeppson and Vince Greene added
11 each to place 5 Redbirds in double digit scoring.
